15 fishermen arrested for theft from a trawler off Malvan coast

Harbour Coastal Police have arrested one Narayan Adkar and 14 other fishermen at Malvan for criminally trespassing into a trawler belonging to one Joao Martin Fernandes on Friday. They allegedly wrongfully restrained the crew between Goa and Malvan coasts and took away fish, the navigation gear and wireless system from the trawler.

They threatened  to kill the crew and later fled from the spot with the booty.  The incident took place on Friday.

The accused persons were on board a trawler bearing the name Omkar.

The stolen items are totally  valued at 9 lakh rupees.
