Will fight for ZP members rights if our candidates are elected: AAP

No single development works were undertaken in the State by ZP members in last 20 years as government didn't bestowed the powers upon them given by Panchayat Raj Act, Aam Admi party has alleged. The party has now assured to fight for ZP rights if their candidates are elected. AAP has also smells golmal in ZP seat reservations.



AAP convener Elvis Gomes said that the questionnaire of State Legislative Assembly clearly shows that 26 various functions have been given to ZP members. The function allow them to undertake minor infrastructure and socio-economic development works. The powers are given by Panchayat Raj Act but government has not yet handed it over to them. AAP has also threatened to approach high court on reservations.
