Velsao gram sabha wants playground, opposes mega projects

The Velsao gram sabha held on Sunday held discussions on a ground and also opposed the setting up of mega projects. Some gram sabha members also opposed the setting up of a Material Recovery Facility near residential units in Issorcim village.

Gram sabha members were very clear in their opposition to the mega projects arguing that they were opposing these projects as if they were allowed then they would destroy the basic goaness of the villages. The sarpanch also told the people opposing the MRF project to submit their objections in writing as this was a compulsory project.
