Veteran management professor, writer and civil rights activist Prof Anand Teltumbde has decided to file a criminal and civil case against Additional General of Police of Maharashtra Param Bir Singh for defaming his reputation nationwide without any evidence.

His house in Goa was ransacked by Maharashtra police, terming him Urban Naxal.

Prof Teltumbde teaches at Goa Institute of Management. He is a well known writer, having 28 books to his credit and writes regularly for periodicals worldwide.

He is considered to be one of the scholars of civil rights movement. While arresting five such reputed activists and writers on 28th August, Maharashtra police had also ransacked his house at GIM in Goa, when it was locked and the whole family was out of Goa.

Later, Maharashtra’s Additional IGP Param Bir Singh, in a press conference, had accused him of attending a human rights conference in Paris while alleging that it was funded by India’s Maoists.

Maharashtra Government has not given him permission to file case against the AGP. So he is now going ahead, filing criminal and civil suits against him in the high court.
