Selaulim pipeline bursts, restricted water in Salcete & Mormugao

Due to this, water supply to Salcete & Mormugao talukas has been restricted.

On Tuesday as well as on Wednesday.

The repair work has already started.

It’s a pipeline laid down by JAICA hardly one year ago. 

The pipeline got burst at 8.30 in the morning on Tuesday at Velipwada of Cotali village near Selaulim dam.

This is the fourth time pipeline has burst.

The area was flooded and it also destroyed nearby plantations.

About 2,000 cubic meters of water was wasted.

Sanguem PWD Executive Engineer Anant Gaonkar informed that repair work would be completed on war footing by working overnight.

He has also assured to compensate farmers whose plantations were destroyed by muddy water.
