Pre-monsoon showers leave trail of destruction in Vasco

Pre-monsoon showers that lashed the state this morning left behind a trail of destruction in Vasco. In fact senior citizens From Velsao, Pedro Anton Fernandes and his wife Maria had a miraculous escape after a coconut tree fell on their car. The couplewas taken to hospital and discharged after treatment.

Fernandes and his wife had come to attend early morning Mass when the tree fell on their car. House of local fishermen Xavier Gurjaowas also damaged after a coconut tree crashed on it during the heavy showers. This was one among the many that fell after the storm this morning. Fire officer DilipBicholkar has appealed to Vasco’s locals to not panic as the fire brigade was well equipped to deal with all emergencies.
