Police permit anti-NRC meet in Mapusa, but MMC revokes on law & order issue

A big rally planned in Mapusa city on Saturday to oppose the CAA, NRC and NPR has been cancelled. Because even after seeking permission of police, the Mapusa municipality has revoked its own permission to use taxi stand for the rally. Giving excuse of law and order.

Citizens of Mapusa and the NGO Sahayog had organized the rally to oppose amended Citzenship Act, the National Regiseter of Citizens and National Population Register, as a part of ongoing nationwide protests.

They were granted permission both by the Mapusa municipality as well as Mapusa police. But when some organizations objected to the municipality, the chief officer revoked its permission last minute. Watch what the organizers are saying.
