Monsoon 9 % above average in Goa: MET

Sea level along Goa’s coast has risen considerably. The Met department in Goa has attributed the rise in sea level to strong winds.



The two systems that are affecting the weather in Goa are offshore draught from Maharashtra to Kerala and low pressure over Chattisgarh.

MET scientist said so far these has 1830mm rainfall in north Goa and 1537mm in south Goa, that gives an average of 1676 mm of rainfall which is 9% above the normal value.

The fishermen are warned the fishermen not to venture into the sea for the next two days
