MAKE KONKANI COMPULSORY FOR JOB RECRUITMENT: GOA FORWARD

From now on, the State or Central Governments should clearly state that knowledge of Konkani is compulsory while advertising during recruitment of jobs, opposition party Goa Forward said. Otherwise, they threatened to hold a protest. They also said that they wanted contract jobs to be abolished.

 On Thursday, Goa Forward leaders handed over a memorandum to the Directorate of Fisheries.  The jobs which are advertised under Sagarmitra have not said that  the compulsion of Konkani language for recruitment. Why is this despite Konkani being the official language? Goa Forward's Mohandas Lolyenkar asked.  

Not only Sagarmitra, but advertisements for jobs in any government department should not use words such as local language compulsory but clearly state that knowledge of Konkani is compulsory. Listen to Durgadas Kamat.
