Goa beaches a mess

Tourism is the backbone of Goan economy. But look at the infrastructure, especially at the beaches.

Colva beach  in South Goa is considered to be the main tourist attraction but  no proper beach cleaning is being carried out there.

Drinking alcohol in the open is banned  but tourists continue to flout the rules and drink openly on  leaving the empty bottles on the beach.

And the authorities have not managed to do anything as these.

Politicians vie with each other to  unveil plaques but after that no work is being  done to improve the infrastructure.

A Colva local Alex D'Souza highlighted the neglect of the  beach.

Closer to the   capital city, Miramar beach  too is in a neglected state.

One finds empty liquor and water bottles just thrown on road side or on the beach.
