Fuel hikes: Not just people but even pump owners upset

Fuel prices are skyrocketing and insiders say that they will continue to rise. People have lost their cool and arguing with petrol pump attendants. Petrol pump owners say that they are facing losses. People and opposition were protesting till date. Now pump owners too say that they would be forced to protest.

The rise in international crude prices has lead to a hike in fuel prices. This si the common refrain you hear. In Goa Petrol has reached 104.45 rupees and diesel is 100.93 rupees. For last five days fuel is being hiked by 30 to 35 paisa. The reason is that we are still following VAT system. There is possibility of decrease in fuel hike if petrol is brought under the ambit of GST. However, it looks like it’s not happening, Petrol pump owners association chief, Paresh Joshi has reiterated.
