Framers object to Taleigao Creek filling

They have alleged that contractor has done land filling in the St. Inez creek itself to construct a road. The club has threatened to approach court to get stay order if the work is not stopped immediately. Construction of road is underway near Thomas garage at Tonca, Taleigao. The mud and stones are dumped in the creek to construct road. The Taleigao Farmer's Club has opposed this. They fear floods if creek is filled with mud it will overflow. Project officer Swati Borkar was present while club was opposing the construction. She showed them work permissions issued by panchayat.
