Electricity woes: Ribandar residents up in arms

12 Jun 2018 06:55 PM

On Tuesday Ribander residents met the chief electrical engineer to complain about the electricity or rather the lack of it in their area. If the problems are not solved they want one month’s bill to be waived off.

The Power minister claims that 1700 crore rupees have been allotted to the state to improve the power situation.

But on the ground, this does not show. Sudden blackouts, fluctuations and badly maintained electricity boards and transformers are a norm. Is the department not replacing any parts? Or are they using substandard parts?

Bills are reaching consumers. But the consensus is that quality is getting worse.
