EASE OF DOING BUSINESS OVER GOAN LAND?

The Water sports body and beach shack owner’s association along with GRE issued a memorandum to the Goa tourism Department as the new rules under the ease of doing business could lead to detrimentaleffects on Goa’s coastline.

Under the ease of doing business initiative, the government has made systematic changes for the registration of new hotels in the tourism sector. As part of the new rules, business owners need not secure permissions from the panchayat,

CRZ, and other departments but rather only from the tourism department. GRE’s Olencio charged that this would lead to the destruction of Goa’s coastline as many checks have now been skipped in the favour of ease of doing business.
