Colva panchayat opposes sewerage treatment plant in village

The panchayat has issued stop order to the under construction sewerage treatment plant.

Panchayat has said authorities failed to take suggestions of locals on the plant. 

The work of sewerage treatment plant at Colva is 90% complete. Now, Colva panchayat has issued a stop order to the project.

According to Colva Sarpanch Anthony Fernandes, the panchayat had issued NoC to plant stating that it should only serve Colva village and not other villages.

He said no TCP approval, no study report or plan was submitted to the panchayat.
