BBSM stages protest at Directorate of Education office

Bharatiya Basha Suraksha Manch volunteers and supporters staged a gherao at the Directorate of Education office in Panaji for more than two hours.
They protested against the government’s failure to grant permissions to Marathi and Konknni schools.
Convenor of BBSM Subhash Velingkar alleged that the BJP-led government is discouraging education in vernacular languages such as Marathi and Konknni and encouraging educating in English language.
They handed a memorandum to Director of Education Gajanan Bhatt.
