Land for Kabristan identified, funds land with SGPDA: Vijai

A long-pending demand of the Muslim community for a Kabristan in Madgao is being finally fulfilled.



TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai said that 20,000 square metre land has been identified and grants of 15 crore rupees given by the central government are already with the SGPDA.


Vijai also said in a first, commercial land will be converted for agriculture Madgao.


Vijai spoke to media on the kabrastan issue on the sideline of laying of foundation stone for a nullah in Fatorda.


He said he will obtain NOC for Kabristan work before the model code of conduct for Lok Sabha election comes into effect.


The TCP Minister said in a first, a commercial land from an ODP has been proposed to be converted into an agriculture land in Madgao.
