Country should transport cargo by sea: IOMOU

Secretary IOMOU on Port State Control D. Mehrotra has opined that the country should explore the possibility of transporting more and more cargo through sea rather than by land.

He said transporting of cargo by sea is much cheaper and less polluting.

Mehrotra was addressing the gathering in Vasco on the 56^th National Maritime Day celebrations on 5^th April at Ravindra Bhavan in Baina.

Goa Governor Dr Mridula Sinha, Commissioner of Customs R Manohar and other dignitaries were also present.
