Academic year has started; but many schools still under repairs

This is very inconvenient given that the monsoons are expected to hit any time now with the state already getting pre monsoon showers.

In Khotigao, repair and renovation work of a school had started five months back but is still not complete. This has prompted Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes to allege that the government does not care for poor people.

In Bicholim too, repair work of another school is going on even though academic year has already started. Chairperson of Bicholim Municipal Council has blamed the contractor for the slow pace of work, inconveniencing students.
