Third Mandovi bridge is all set to be ready before end of the year.

The third Mandovi bridge is well on track to meet its 26th January 2019 target, Sidharth Kunclolienkar, the GSIDC vice chairman.



In fact, the bridge may be ready before the end of this year, he claimed  on Wednesday, at the function to lay the last segment of the  bridge  to complete the  Porvorim to Panaji stretch. 

Work on the third Mandovi bridge whose estimated final cost is pegged at 482 crore rupees, began in July 2014.

Although the government of Goa began the construction of the bridge on its own the central government  later offered to share 50 per cent of the cost.

The length of the cable stayed bridge is 620 metres while its width is 21 metres. The total length of the bridge is 5,136 metres.
