Defence minister launches offshore patrol vessel

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman has appealed the private and government companies to sell defense equipment to other nations and strengthen the Indian Navy and Coast Gaurd.



 She was speaking during the launching of Offshore Patrol Vessel at Goa Shipyard in Vasco.    

Defense Minister further said it is the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi make India a international center for manufacturing defense equipment.

And Goa Shipyard has the capability to export defense equipment.    

Five offshore patrol vessels are under construction under 95 CG OPV project.

Goa Shipyard was the first to built a vessel under this project.

Defense Minister Nirmala Sitaraman handed it over to Coast Guard.
