Goa government has finally approved the long-awaited Information Technology Policy.

It would be launched this weekend. Once implemented, IT Minister Rohan Khaunte claims that no Goan youth would need to go out of state, either to take IT jobs or to start their new ventures. It’s full of rebates, subsidies and incentives.

The cabinet that met on Wednesday under Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar approved the IT policy. It would be launched with a two-day IT Mela on 14th and 15th of July in the Inox courtyard in Panaji.

Union IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad would inaugurate it. Some MoUs are also planned during the launch. These are the highlights of the IT policy.

According to Rohan, the policy would not only generate around 12 thousand jobs but also start up and business opportunities for the Goan IT professionals.

Secondly, the policy would not only focus on IT hubs, but the slogan is IT Anywhere.
