Goa FDA ranks 1st in Food Safety Index

The Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration has secured the first place in the Food Safety Index, issued by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. The evaluation was carried out based on the five parameters.

The parameters are human resource and institutional data, enforcement and compliance, testing infrastructure, consumer empowerment, training and awareness, for considering the states for issue of these awards.

The FDA Director, Jyoti Sardesai received the award on behalf of the State at the hands of Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandvia, at Delhi on September 20.
