GMC canteen get new contractors - Sodexo

Gone are the days where people used to spoil the reputation of the Goa Medical College by posting photos of food served there on social media, was what Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane had to say on Thursday.

The reason: Now the GMC has now outsourced the badly maligned canteens to a private constractor - Sodexo.

Vishwajeet claims that patients and doctors will now get better, nutritious food. 

There were frequent complaints from patients and their relative visiting the GMC about the food that was being served.

Photos were often posted on social media about the food including one that went viral about food being delivered to patients on stretchers.

Almost, one year ago, FDA had raided the canteens in GMC and stopped their operations.
