Destroyed Khazans should be refurbished: Shripad

Union Minister for Ayush Shripad Naik expressed his concern over devastated khazan fields in the state.
Naik said 50% of Khazan fields have been destroyed and government should refurbish the sluice gates and Khazan's to preserve our agricultural heritage.
He also asked the government to seek assistance from the Çentre on this.
He was speaking during the inauguration of Goa Krishi Kranti Exhibition and Farmers Training Hall at Duler, Mapusa.
Agriculture Minister Vijay Sardessai, WRD minister Vinod Palyekar, deputy speaker Michael Lobo, former deputy chief minister Dayanand Narvekar and others were present.
Goan farmers displayed pesticides, fertilizers, farming technologies during the exhibition.
The exhibition would be open till Thursday.
