Despite mining ban, social scheme helped avoid human tragedy: CM

Goa government has not been able to address the public grievances for last five years due to some constraints, said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. Chief Minister admitted that last 15 months were very challenging to government, when State was recovering from the adverse effect of mining. He said government was successful in avoiding human tragedy due to mining ban by spending 300 crore rupees on one time settlement scheme.



Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was addressing the 111th Annual Meeting of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Speaking on the occasion he said despite of ban in mining Goa government was successful to keep social schemes and infrastructures floating.


Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said during mining ban, industries have supported Goan economy in a great way.


He has promised to solve problem-related to industries. Promotion and facilitation of industries will be the governments top agenda. CM said industries have helped Goan youths with employment.
