Netravali to soon have strawberries plantation

The remote Netravali village is all set to grow strawberries. The village ideal climate to grow the fruit which is at present imported from other states. Strawberries will be grown on a land admeasuring 5 thousand square metres.



The first crop is expected to be 32,000 kilograms earning the 60  farmer families 60 lakh rupees.  

The cultivation of strawberries is done under the initiative of Atal Gram  Development Agency. The harvesting season is between November and  April.

The saplings will be brought from Mahableshwar.

The farmers have already been trained. The inhabitants of the Netravali village are 65 per cent  ST community.

More projects that will be undertaken under Atal Gram Development Agency are the  beautification of the village, increasing anganwadis, providing toilets, etc.
