Municipal Elections enters final phase

As the date for the municipal elections gets closer, the atmosphere is getting more and more heated up. Candidates, their supporters and those backing them are stressed out and the election pitch is slowly reaching fever point. However, at least two persons are cool. Why? They have already won.

Here are the details of the winning candidates including Suchita Sirvoikar from the Quepem Municipal Council ward number 3 and Steffanie Lucas from the  Chicalim panchayat bye election from ward number 2.

 For the Margao muncipality there are 128 candidates. On Saturday 89 persons filed their nominations. Out of these, 3 were BJP backed, 5 Goa Forward backed, 11 Congress backed, 6 Aam Aadmi party backed and Goa Suraksha Manch backed – 1.  Jyoti Kumari, Returning Office,  gives details.
