Goa Revolution Day is being commemorated on 18^th June annually as it was on this day in 1946 that Goans launched an open revolt against the Portuguese atrocities.

An elocution competition was organised at Institute Menezes Braganza hall in Panaji to mark Revolution Day.

Director of institute Menezes Braganza Sanjay Harmalkar was also present.

Deputy Chief Minister Viaji Sardesai assured that he would fulfil the demands of the freedom fighters for a freedom fighters' museum in either Margao or Panaji.

The freedom fighters have asked to build a museum to showcase Goa's freedom movement. In Margao, Goa Revolution Day was celebrated at Lohia Maidan.
