HC tells Govt to begin allotting shacks, next hearing on 7th October

The Tourism industry had a mixed day on Monday. The High Court allowed the state to start the procedure for allocation of shacks. But asked it to refrain from finalising allocation till final orders. The next date of hearing in on October 7.



The High court was hearing a petition against the National Green Tribunal order staying the implementation of the Goa shack policy as the state had failed to submit its coastal zone management plan.


The shack owners had moved the High Court seeking to vacate the NGTs stay

on the the government shack policy.


The NGT had stayed the shack policy after the state had failed to submit to submit its coastal management plan.
