BirdFlu, Magistrate bans entry, transportation of Chicken & Eggs

On Tuesday, the South Goa district magistrate banned the entry and transportation of Chicken and Eggs from Maharashtra and Karnataka into south Goa. Nearly 10 states in the country have had confirmed cases of bird flu N5H1 virus.

Nearly 10 states including our neighbours – Karnataka and Maharastra – have had confirmed cases of birdflu. Earlier the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying has issued advisory on testing protocol to states, encouraging them to undertake screening at state level ensuring suitable bio secure facilities.
