Verna police arrest two persons for theft of mobile phones, scooter

Verna Police have arrested two persons on charges of theft. They have recovered six mobile phones and a scooter from them. The mobiles are worth 140,000 rupees. The police are given two days custody of the accused by the court.



One Naveed Shaikh, residing near MES College in Sancoale, had complained that in the intervening night of 21st and 22nd of May 2020 some unknown persons had effected entry into his flat through a window and had decamped with his Huawei mobile phone worth 50,000 rupees.


Verna Police Station on Thursday arrested Michael Martin, aged 21 years and Pushkar Sunor, aged 26 years, under sections 457, 380 read with 34. Both are residents of Chicalim.


Verna Police Inspector Mohan Gaude said during investigation they admitted to the crime.
