Serula communidade land case: Ex-Min Parulekar to face trial

The High court has directed that the former Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar face trial in the Serula communidade land case. The case was filed against him by activist lawyer Aires Rodrigues alleging a land grab.

Parulekar and the other 2 accused – then administrator of communidade Irene Sequeira and then attorney Peter Martins have been directed to appear before the Mapusa JMFC on the 6th of August.

On a petition by Adv Aires, the Mapusa JMFC on 16th of Jan 2014 directed the police to file a complaint against the 3.

The allegation was that the 599 sq mts were taken from the communidade at a rate of 3 lakhs when the market rate was about one crore rupees.
