The arrest of budding politician Kenneth Silveira has raised a furor. Some welcome it and some say it is a fascist decision.

On Friday Kenneth’s social activists protested in Panaji against this arrest.

They met the DGP & argued that it's not a major crime. In the meantime Kenneth was granted a bail by the JMFC, Panaji.

Panaji JMFC granted bail to Kenneth Silveira on 10,000 rupee bond. He will also have to be present before the police as when required.

There is temporary relief but not the acquittal.

Civic society staged protests on Friday morning.

They met Director General of Police Muktesh Chander and argued that this case was too trivial for anyone to be arrested.

Crime Branch had on Wednesday arrested Vasco resident Kenneth Silveira for uploading a false post about the health of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
