With the sudden spike in crimes, Goa 365 has been closely reporting the situation in the state. In what appears to be a blatant lack of fear of the police, criminals seem to be getting bolder as crimes get bigger. Today alone, Goa has seen kidnappings, drug busts and crackdowns on illegal businesses running in the state.

A gang has been arrested in Panaji for the kidnap and assault of a person from Taleigao. The man was picked up by the group and locked up in a flat in Caranzalem, where he was thrashed and detained. Police say that the group was demanding Rs 70 lakh rupees that the victim had failed to repay. Here are more details from SP Shobhit Saxena.

Following directions from Chief Minister, Dr  Pramod Sawant, Goa Police have begun their crack down on illegal massage parlours in the state. In this effect, one parlour running under the name of Holy Basil was raided in Anjuna.

The parlour which was being run by a Tamil Nadu native has been operating without any permission for the last four years has been sealed and will pass through further inspection.

Police have arrested the man running the parlour, and have also seized the outlets equipment and book containing its transaction history of the past four years. Listen.

On June 3rd, a jail guard was caught red-handed supplying drugs to an inmate in Colvale jail. In the follow up to this case, Calangute police were able to trace a man in possession of a 10kg consignment of Ganja worth approximately Rs 10 lakh in the market.
