The police department has been given directions in a bid to maintain law and order.

The Government has been on the mat after shootouts and murders hit the headlines even as section 144 and curfew is in force.

The Chief Minister convened a meeting with IGP Jaspal Singh and other police officers on Thursday to review the situation.

IGP Jaspal Singh said police are told to keep watch on history sheeters in bid to avoid gang wars.

Even, juvenile history sheeters would be under police scanners. Efforts will be made to keep minors away from crimes.
