For not removing footwear, librarian mercilessly beats a student

A student of Std VIII was assaulted with feasts and blows. His head was hit on a wall. His hand got fractured. Why? Because he entered the library wearing footwear.



Three days after this horrific incident, Ponda police have now booked Amit Sawant, librarian of S S Samiti School of Dhavali.


And now another boys has also complained about similar kind of assault by the same man.


On Saturday, Mohit Rotiwale forgot to remove his footwear while entering the library.


As though he had committed a heinous crime, Samant pounced upon him and started assaulting him, kicking him and pushed him right and left.


Mohit hit a bench and fractured his hand. After his parents filed a complaint on Tuesday, police have now booked Sawant under Goa Children’s Act.


School headmaster Shrikrishna Desai confirmed that he has received another complaint against Sawant for hitting another boy Siddhik on Friday.


He has forwarded the complaint to the management for further action.


The Congress has also backed the victim. Congress Youth President Varad Mardolkar has demanded immediate suspension of the Librarian.
