Vasco police rescue 8 minor girls

Vasco police inspector Nolasco Raposo told media that they rushed where the girls were detained after receiving information from Panaji police that 8 minor girls were detained in a flat in Vasco.

He said a Childline volunteer lodged a complaint against the caretaker.

He said the police arrested the woman and booked her under section 363,  324 and section 8 of Goa Children’s Act.

The accused will be produced before the JMFC Vasco on remand.

Nolasco said the investigation is in progress to identify the parents of the minor girls. The girls are presently lodged at Apna Ghar in Merces.
