Re-train cops to tackle sexual-abuse cases: Maneka Gandhi

Union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi has written to all Chief minister to make sure that cases related to sexual offences against women & children are completed "as per the timelines of law" for speedy justice to the victims and their families.

 

In the wake of recent heinous crimes against women across the country, Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi has decided some strict measures.

  

    ‘Speed up cases of sexual offences’

 

-          Speed up cases of sexual offences against children

-          Re-train officers on aspects of sexual offences

-          Take strict action against cops obstructing probe

-          Deal with cops who collude with perpetrators strictly

-          Spread awareness on child helpline no. 1098

However, we have no confirmation of whether the state has received it and what it is doing to comply with these demands as the Narendra Modi government scrambles to get a hold of a tidal wave.
