Police catch Canacona rape-accused in Bengaluru

Ramchandrappa had escaped through the toilet vent when he was brought to the Margao Sessions Court for a hearing from Colvale Central Jail.

He was arrested for the rape of a British woman on December 20, 2018 in Canacona.

One of the police officers received a burn injury as his leg touched the motorcycle silencer when he jumped to catch the undertrial rape accused .

Bailancho Ekvott Convenor Auda Viegas has congratulated the police for nabbing the undertrial. 

Meanwhile, Convenor of Bailancho Ekvott Auda Viegas has lodged a police complaint against a Facebook post by a Panaji resident.

The Facebook post by Mahendra Dharwatkar reads thus: What a pleasure my friend Babush joined BJP who was called a rapist. Now let him rape BJP girls. I am with him always.
