1 killed as 2 laborers engage in drunken brawl at Khariwado Jetty

A alcohol fuelled argument and fight between two laborers at the Khariwado jetty in Vasco led to murder on Sunday night.



The accused Akub Lugun alias Raju has been arrested. Surprisingly the police found that no verification was done for any of the labour on the trawler.

A labourer working on a trawler Mithun Sameer was assaulted by his colleague Akub Lugun alias Raju from Odisha on Sunday night.

Akub allegedly hit him with a wooden rod on his head and fled from the place after the incident.

A person who witnessed the incident from another anchored fishing trawler alerted the police. The police located the accused at Vasco at 5 on Monday morning. 

The fishing trawler owner namely Rama Tani is being prosecuted U/s 188 IPC for not complying with the notification issued by the District Magistrate, South-Goa, Margao, Goa, regarding submission of employee verification form of the above labourer at Vasco Police Station.
