Tension flares up at Margao new market over opening of shops

Margao new market will be opened for Tuesday onwards. Even on Sunday. Police came on site to close the market as social distancing was not followed. But market association refused to close the market.

This sparked tension. However, some shop owners closed shop on their own. 

MMC has issued guidelines to Margao Gandhinagar and new Market shop owners during the lockdown.

Guidelines had suggested staggered opening of shops.

However, market association announced to open all the shops.

Association says even local MLA has supported the decision.
