Covid-19 cases in India on rising trend

The daily covid-19 cases in India are on the rise once again even as the country kicks off its second phase of the vaccination drive.



 The active cases are increasing and have surged beyond the 1.50 lakh once again.


India on Thursday recorded a huge surge of more 17,000 covid-19 cases, highest one-day spike of new COVID-19 cases since Jan 29, according to the union ministry of health.


The active caseload in the country has increased again to reach 1.70 lakh mark.


HIGHLIGHTS


-India reported 17,407 covid-19 cases in the last 24hrs

-The active cases surge to 1,73,413

-Highest since Jan 29

-Maharashtra, Karnataka contribute most number of daily covid-19 cases

-6 states contribute 86% of new covid-19 cases


World's largest inoculation drive is underway in India. India has administered vaccine to 1.66 crore of its population till date.


In last 24 hours 9.94 lakh citizens received their jabs. 0.20% of Indian population have received the vaccine.


In Goa 30,501 people have received the dose till date.


HIGHLIGHTS


-In last 24hrs 48,205 HCWs received 1st dose of vaccine

-1,59,494 HCWs received 2nd dose of vaccine

-2,23,522 FLWs received 1st dose of vaccine

-3,368 received 2nd dose of vaccine

-71,860 above 45 years age with co-morbidities administered vaccine

-4,78,003 above 60 years administered vaccine
