Covid cases rising, situation in Maharashtra is concerning

The Country also reported 446 deaths in last 24hrs taking total death toll to 1.65 lakhs.

One person succumbed from Covid in Goa. While, 50,143 recoveries took place in last 24hrs.

Union Health Ministry said Maharashtra has 58% of the total active COVID-19 cases in India and accounts for 34% of the total COVID-19 deaths reported so far.

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhusan said that the percentage of RT-PCR tests has been reducing in Maharashtra.

Only 60% of total tests were done through RT-PCR method in Maharashtra last week.

Yesterday, India reported highest single day of cases more than 1 lakh. This are the highest numbers ever.

However, the cases are rising but not deaths. Health Secretary said in February daily deaths had crossed 1000 mark and this time deaths are below 400.

India is reporting more number of cases than US and Brazil for the last 7 days.

However, Union Health Minister Rajesh Bhushan said India has lowest cases in world in terms of population.
