India has reported 43,393 new COVID-19 cases and 44,459 recoveries in last 24 hours.

India has reported 43,393 new COVID-19 cases and 44,459 recoveries in last 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll has reached 4,05,939 as 911 new deaths were reported in last 24 hours. Active COVID-19 cases in the country stand at 4,58,727.

  Active cases now constitute only 1.49% of total cases. Also, the recovery rate has increased to 97.19%. The weekly positivity rate remains below 5%, and is currently at 2.36%. The daily positivity rate stands at 2.42%, less than 3% for 18 consecutive days.

 

Meanwhile, Union Health Ministry said the cases are once again rising in Maharshtra and Karnataka states.

 Union Health Ministry said there is resurgence of covid-19 cases in United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea etc. Health Ministry also showed videos of tourists crowds in Uttarakhand which can provoke resurgence of cases in India too.

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday chaired high level meeting to review ramping up of oxygen supply across the Country. More than 1500 PSA Oxygen plants are coming up across the nation which includes contribution from PM CARES as well as various ministries & PSUs. PM instructed the officials to ensure that these plants are made functional at the earliest and to work closely with the state governments for the same.
