Lockdown day 2 sees 40 deaths in state, no coordination among agencies still

As the partial lockdown enters day 2, deaths touch 40 and clamours for an extension as well proper implementation of protocol gathers steam, the government till Saturday evening has not decided on the issue. However, the Calangute Panchayat has issued a public notice extending the lockdown till May 9 within it's jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, 2 pachayats in Porvorim constituency have opted for voluntary lockdown. Village Panchayats of Penha de Franca and Salvador Do Mundo have also declared a complete voluntary lockdown in their panchayat areas from May  1 to May 9 in an attempt to break the chain.
