HC directs govt to make tests to travellers cumpolsory

The High Court on Thursday directed the state government to make covid negative certificate that is issued 72-hours prior to travel mandatory for those coming to Goa from other states, from May 10.



 It also provides updated real time information about beds, oxygen, ventilators and ICU availability to the general public through government websites. Court also directed the state  HC order came in response to the three PILs filed by concerned citizens and associations seeking directions to the government for effective covid management.

 HIGHLIGHTS

 Make covid negative certificate issued 72-hours prior to travel mandatory from May 10

Provide updated real time information about beds, oxygen, ventilators and ICU availability through govt websites

-Provide test reports at the earliest

-Provide information about vaccination to the 18 to 45 age group

-Directs govt to provide sufficient police protection around hospitals, wards  

 Meanwhile the government issued a notification amending the state medical insurance scheme DDSSY to provide insurance cover to Covid-19 patients. Covid infected can now take treatment at private hospitals and claim insurance under DDSSY. The official notification was issued on May 5. a total of 27 private hospitals across the state are expected to make 778 beds available for treating covid patients.
