Govt to now opt for plasma therapy to treat covid-19 patients

Government is now going to opt for plasma therapy to treat covid-19 patients, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane announced on Saturday. The government will go ahead once its get cabinet nod to appoint some technicians and staff for this treatment.



Plasma will be collected from the recover patients after 28 days and GMC has capacity to store this plasma for one year.


Goa has reported 5 five deaths till date due to covid-19 infection. These number of rising deaths have become a concern and many states have already began to treat their patients with plasma therapy.


Vishwajit Rane said measures are being taken to keep people safe. all protocols are in place and SOP's are followed.


Rane said he contacted Kerela's health minister where she informed 8 serious patients who had given up on life were treated with plasma therapy.


Health Minister said people will be encouraged to donate their plasma. VO2: The corona virus infections in Ponda is on to rise.


Three family members of a constable tested positive. Also two home guards and a staff of 108 a tested positive.


Total tally has jumped to 22 in Ponda.


Three persons were tested positive for coronavirus at Davorlim. Among them was a barber. All were sent to covid hospital.


Two more coronavirus cases were reported in Fatorpa on Saturday. One in Bolayer and second one Mademol area of Fatorpa.


Reports say one constable deployed at the gate of Goa Legislative Assembly was tested positive for coronavirus, a cause for concern with date for the assembly session fast approaching.


Few days back Cuncolim MLA Clafacio Dias and his family members were tested positive. 


Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao has appealed people from his constituency to wear masks and follow social distancing.


Churchill also apologise for his statement for calling coronavirus a bacteria leading to deliver some serious talks on coronavirus.
