If we control diet, the lifestyle we can control diabetes: Danish ambassador

India has nearly 79.2 million people with diabetes, the second highest in the world after China.



And if we don’t take corrective measures and precaution we will soon become the number 1.

Danish Ambassador to India Peter Taksoe-Jensen told the audience during the Changing Diabetes Barometer program that if we act together, be more proactive in what we do and eat, we can keep a track and control our diabetes.

This awareness program was organized by the directorate of Health services Goa at a city hotel on Thursday.

The objective of this program is to create awareness about diabetes, to make Goa a model state for prevention, control and management of the disease.

It also seeks to put a focus on diabetes care and educating people to take appropriate steps to manage their diabetes.

Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane said that in Goa there are many cases of people suffering from diabetes some even small children.
