20 May 2018 04:42 PM

The Feast of Holy Spirit was celebrated in the state on Sunday. This feast is also known as Purumentanche feast or the feast of provisions.

Locals buy these provisions before the monsoon like dry chillys, dry fish, masala, furniture; sweets, kokum, etc.

This feast is a celebration of the Christian feast of Pentecost, which is celebrated ten days after Ascension Thursday, and commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ while they were in Jerusalem celebrating the ‘Feast of Weeks’.

Speaking to Goa365, Archbishop of Delhi Anil Couto gave a message to all Goans and people around the world.
